Based on previous post it thew a serpentine belt which lead to the battery dieing repeatedly and it puking coolant because the water pump wasn’t running.

Close. It kept trying to overheat because the water pump wasn’t running. It was puking coolant because the belt shredded itself and put a nice gash in the passenger side plastic radiator end tank.

Wow. A drivebelt shouldn’t be able to do so much damage.

The good news is that it’s only $60 of parts and materials to fix it. The culprit was the tensioner pulley failing. Bad news is that given how slow this month is going, I won’t be able to really fix it until Christmas.

You’d be surprised. My alternator belt did a runner. According to the internets when this happens the belt often cuts through the wires leading to the crankshaft position sensor.

You would be surprised what a lump of rubber can do when you fling it around at 2000+ rpm.

I didn’t buy the Crown Vic I went to look at today. I’m kinda bummed, it was hella dirty, stunk like cigarettes and dog pee(owners had an untrained small dog). Plus the windshield was cracked in three good size cracks that would mean immediate replacement.

Cheers. At least yours is still (barely) driveable.

Ahh well, it happens. Have you looked at MGMs and Town Cars?

That would not have been a good car to flip. Good pass.
